HAHAHAHAHAHA....

Another hilarious clip! LOL!

Funniest person EVER.....

Chris Farley is by far the funniest man to have ever walked this earth. Anyone that can make you laugh just by LOOKING at them is a God. I sure do miss him.

Enjoy this classic clip from Saturday Night Live! :)

Lots to catch up on!

So a lot has been going on since my last blog! First, I am proud to say that Melanie and I celebrated our 2 year anniversary on September 21, 2008. We had a wonderful day which consisted of going for breakfast at 'The Rue', a visit to a beautiful farm stand called 'Dane Farm', and painting at Colt State Park in Bristol. It was perfect. It was a gorgeous fall day and it just couldn't have been any better. That night Mel took me for dinner at Sienna's on Atwells Ave. We shared the gnocchi and boy was it delicious. I love you Mel and can't wait to see what year # 3 has in store for us! ;)

The weekend prior, Mel and I (along with my mom & Elizabeth) were in New Jersey for Mel's mother's surprise 50th birthday! What a beautiful weekend we had. Mel's mom (Ginny) was completely surprised. Her family and friends were so down-to-earth, friendly, funny and warm. Speaking of warm, it was suicidal hot outside! Holy crap. It was close to 100 and humid! Did I mention we had to set up and take down everything??? There were over 70 people. We had tents, tables and food to arrange not to mention cleaning to do. Woah. God bless Mel for loving the heat (and my mother for her super human powers). Me? I did the best I could. I HATE, LOATH, DESPISE that kind of heat! I did a lot - but wanted to die. Oh, and I forgot to mention that I packed completely wrong. I had FALL clothes with me. Heavy jeans, long sleeve shirts and sweaters. Yup. No shorts. No polos. No flip-flops. Yah. But it was all worth it! :)

Here are some pictures from the weekend.

Here are some pictures Mel and I took this Saturday at Phantom Farms in Cumberland, RI (pay no attention to the baaaaaaaaad hair...woah).

Peace,

Classic Abbott & Costello Clip

To me, Bud Abbott (the short one), is one of the funniest people to ever grace this planet. I laugh out loud watching him. Here is a classic clip from 'Hold That Ghost' from the 1940's. Be sure volume is up.

Quotes

When you're looking for the gifts in a situation, you'll almost always be able to find something positive to focus on.

Here is tomorrow's & Sunday's since I most likely won't be able to post since I am heading to Jersey for the weekend:

Saturday: Without knowing it, people who lack humility create enormous stress for themselves. Rather than having the support, trust, admiration, and encouragement of others, the opposite tends to occur. People are usually mad and frustrated with them, which creates all sorts of problems.

Sunday: Everyone wins when you act with humility, which involves, among other things, the willingness to look at your own contribution to problems and to see other points of view, as well as the willingness to apologize.

Be humble and kind to each other!!!

Peace,

Des

For my Melanie

This morning I woke up to an email from Elizabeth reminding me to listen to a song called "You" by Evanescence. Wow. What a beautiful, beautiful song. It made me think of my Melanie so much. Of course I would change a couple of the lyrics (i.e. blue eyes to green eyes and the name Amy to Melanie), but it is such a romantic song I had to share it with you guys.

Melanie and I are getting ready to celebrate our 2 year anniversary on Sept 21st! Can you believe it? My life has changed so much. Melanie has GIVEN me life. She makes me feel alive. Passionate. Driven. Brave. I know soul mates exist because my soul would not feel the same without her. My soul was sad before her. We may be different but in all honesty I am learning to accept that as an exciting thing. Never a dull moment with us, that is for sure! :-)

Anyway, I can't wait for the day I see Melanie walking down the aisle toward me.

I love you Mel.

Today's Quote

I like this one...

Most of us handle the "big stuff" pretty well. The stress you feel often comes from fighting those "no change of winning" battles where the outcome is practically irrelevant anyway.

How beautiful is this?

Here are some pictures taken a couple of weeks ago in Bristol, Rhode Island. We dined at 'Thames Waterside Bar & Grill'. It was absolutely beautiful, just like Melanie.

Today's Message

Today's message:

One of the major contributing factors to self-created stress is the tendency that most of us have to hold on to battles that we have virtually no chance of winning.

Mel sent this one:

"Evil requires that only good people do nothing." -Edmund Burke.

Things to ponder....

I just want to say...

GOOD FOR THEM!!!

Lindsay Lohan & partner Samantha.

Ellen and Portia's Wedding

Rachel Maddow - First "out" Lesbian TV Newsreporter with new political show on MSNBC!

Interesting quote

Okay, so I thought I was going to post a quote of the day but that fell through...lol, however, I will post quotes that stand out more than others and this one from today does:

The things that we so often attach importance to are important, but it's a question of degree. Success, perfection, achievement, money, recognition -- you can have them all, but they're not everything. In fact, without a passion and appreciation for life, they don't amount to much.

So, so true.

Peace,

Des

Take us back to Margaritaville!

All I can say is Jimmy Buffett was INCREDIBLE! The man, the legend, the musician, the traveler, the writer, the comedian is just --- amazing. And may I say he looks better than ever at 60 years old! Way to go Jimmy!

Melanie is no longer a parrothead virgin!

She is an official parrothead! Yaaay! She LOVED it! To say she had a good time is an understatement. She thought the crowd and tailgate setups were so much fun. We are going to have the best tailgate EVER next September - for sure.

We walked around and checked out most people's set-ups which included tiki bars, swing sets, slides, mud wrestling, dance clubs, live music, photo ops, pirate ship buses and beach sand!
Here is a video of "Changes in Latitudes, Changes in Attitudes" - Gives you an idea of what a Buffett concert is like!

Mel convinced me to DANCE at someone's tailgate party and we even received several hugs from strangers! LOL! The people are so down-to-earth and NICE! Lots of middle aged people mixed with young adults and even kids. There is just something magical about a Buffett concert.

We made it through most of the concert but left by the middle of second set to avoid traffic!! Thank God!! Allllllllll the lots were full and we were way in the back.

It was a great experience and I can't wait for his October show at Mohegan Sun and next Summer's show!
WE LOVE YOU JIMMY! ;-D

Fins Up!
